What Our Clients Have Shared
Wanchai Thongsuk
Bangkok, June 2025
When my father passed, I had no idea where to begin with the estate. The team at Thayat took on all the filings and explained each step before doing anything. It took a weight off at a very difficult time. I cannot imagine having handled it alone.
Pranee Laorattanapong
Nonthaburi, May 2025
I came to Thayat to have my will properly drafted after a previous version had some unclear language. The lawyer read through everything carefully and asked good questions about what I actually intended. The revised document reflects my wishes much more clearly. Professional and unhurried.
Krit Suradechakorn
Pathum Thani, June 2025
There were tensions in our family after my mother passed, and I wasn't sure mediation would help. The person from Thayat who facilitated was genuinely neutral and kept things constructive. We came out of it with an agreement everyone could accept.
Nittaya Buranasiri
Bangkok, July 2025
Thayat helped me identify the correct heirs for my late husband's estate, including a sibling overseas who needed to be contacted. They handled the international aspect without any fuss and kept me informed throughout. Fees were exactly what was quoted upfront.
Somchai Rattanakit
Chiang Mai, May 2025
I had a complicated estate to administer — property in two provinces and several bank accounts. The team at Thayat coordinated with the relevant offices and kept the process moving. It took longer than I hoped, but they were honest about the timeline from the beginning.
Anne Underwood
British national, Bangkok, June 2025
As a foreign national with property in Thailand, I wasn't sure what rights I had regarding my late partner's estate. Thayat explained the rules clearly and helped me understand exactly what I could and could not inherit under Thai law. Calm, bilingual, and very thorough.

How We've Helped in Practice
Situation
Estate Without a Will
A family in Bangkok with three adult children contacted us after the sudden passing of their father, who had not left a will. Two siblings were not on speaking terms and a property was involved.
Our Approach
Mediation First
We conducted separate initial meetings with each sibling before bringing them together in a structured session. Legal entitlements were laid out clearly before discussion of the property began.
Outcome
Agreed Distribution
Within six weeks, all three heirs had agreed on a distribution. The estate was administered and the property transferred without court proceedings. The family reported the process had helped them communicate more openly.
Situation
Will Needing Revision
A retired couple in Bangkok had each made wills several years earlier. After the birth of a grandchild and the sale of a business, both documents were out of date and contained some ambiguous clauses.
Our Approach
Joint Review Sessions
We reviewed both documents together with the couple and identified every point that no longer reflected their current circumstances. New drafts were produced, reviewed in two sessions, and adjusted until both clients were fully satisfied.
Outcome
Clarity and Peace of Mind
Both wills were re-executed with proper witnesses. The couple felt their intentions were now properly documented and that their family would not face any uncertainty. Total fee: ฿3,400 for both documents.
Situation
Cross-Border Estate
A Thai national had lived and worked abroad for many years before returning to Bangkok. At his passing, his estate included assets in both Thailand and a foreign jurisdiction, with heirs in both countries.
Our Approach
Coordinated Administration
We handled the Thai portion of the estate administration while advising on what the overseas heirs would need to provide to be recognised under Thai law. Coordination with the relevant consular office was part of the process.
Outcome
Full Administration Completed
The Thai estate was administered and all assets distributed to the correct heirs within approximately four months. The overseas assets were handled separately by local lawyers in the relevant country, to whom we provided supporting documentation.
